The Language of the Body — Intuition, the Stillness After
Aug 27, 2026
The Quietest Language
Of the four ways we've talked about this month — emotion, stress, pain, and now this — intuition is the one that's hardest to point to. It doesn't arrive with a gust like emotion does. It doesn't build like pressure before a storm. It isn't loud enough to demand attention the way pain is. It's quieter than all of it, which is exactly why it's usually the first thing we lose when life gets loud.
I've come to think of intuition less as something you go looking for, and more as what's left once everything else has had its turn to speak. The wind moves through. The pressure builds and releases. The storm passes. And underneath all of it, if you're still enough to notice, there's a kind of clarity that was there the whole time, waiting for the noise to quiet down enough to be heard.
Your body actually has a name for where a lot of this comes from: the enteric nervous system, a second brain low in your body that sends far more information up to your head than your head ever sends down. Gut feelings aren't irrational — they're just processed somewhere words don't reach easily. That's why the clearest knowing you've ever had probably didn't arrive as a sentence. It arrived as a pull, a lightness, a closing. Something you knew before you could explain why.
If you joined us for a trail magic hike, you've already practiced a version of this — pausing long enough, out there in the actual wind and actual quiet, to hear something underneath the noise of an ordinary week. If you haven't made it yet, that's okay. The invitation isn't a one-time thing. It's a practice.
This wraps our month with the language of the body — four ways it's been talking to you all along, if you were willing to listen. I hope some of it landed somewhere real.
And because listening to your body is so much easier in community than alone, I'd love for you to join us for what's next: an evening of painting, planting, and marking the turn of the season together.
